Let's rewind back for a minute, when I started photography I didn't know that I'll get this far. I remembered after my 5 weeks trip in Europe, I was excited to upload my photos and go through them. It was the longest trip I have ever done that time and I had the time of my life, but when I went through my photos I was disappointed. Photography was a way for me to preserve my memories and I hated myself for not being able to do that time of my life justice. I started photography because I didn't want to look back to these beautiful memories, trips and locations through my horrible photo. From there I started to fall in love, photography had given men an outlet for my creativity, it has helped me to express myself in a way that I couldn't do through words and it had allowed me to feel fulfilled. Because all that I am Happy!
Then in April 2018 I decided to take a leap of faith, to pursue my passion in photography. I had spent 7 months traveling through world renown landscapes in Indonesia and Australia with my professional Canon 5D mk iv and Professional Canon L series lenses. I submitted a whole bunch of my photos to many different competitions, it cost me hundreds of dollars. Yet.... when the winners announced, I only heard back from one of the competition, and only 2 of my photos managed to get recognition. Imagine all of my effort to go to these places, all of the cost I have to pay for the hotel and transportation. But most of all, my frustration! I lost my self-confidence and I was so close to abandoned my dream and go back to engineering.
I was so desperate, I decided to get in touch with one of the winners. He was kind enough to spare 10-15 minutes of his time and at that moment I realised where I went wrong. From there I started to change my approach, my workflow but most of all my frameworks. Every time I took my camera out I would try and polish the frameworks so that it's perfect. Since I applied this framework I was able to take my photography to the next level and go from 2 awards in 2018 to 23 awards in 2019. I call this framework the 3PMP method. Looking back the reason why I was able to get the 2 awards in 2018 was because I unconsciously followed The 3PMP method.
